So we got to spend one beautiful night in Paris and then board the TGV to meet our next destination in St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The scenery is beautiful, but honestly, the train itself is a pretty amazing as well. French for high-speed train, the TGV operates at around 200 mph. It is a short trip to the villa where will be staying and after the long flight yesterday, the TGV is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, food is not what the train is known for, so we are holding on to thoughts of the grand meals we will have at our friends' home rather than the lunch we are eating today.
As you can see we are having a lovely meal comprised of pasta, carrot salad, croque monsieur creme brulee and a little Syrah. Not exactly luxury food, but not bad compared to airplane gourmet meals. It is simple and colorful and we didn't have to make it ourselves, so we are all thankful.
Now, the kids are really to bolt and to tell you the truth, Avner is too. We are ready to relax and lay next to the pool. Thank goodness for vacation - it makes the world seem like a whole different place when you stop and take a deep breath.
